Yering station.

Yering station was the first stop on our wine tour. Yarra valley is a beautiful valley to the north of Melbourne. It really was only about a half hour from my house, but more like 1 hour out of downtown Melbourne. Closer to me because I live in suburbia :) It was all so beautiful.

I think that the Yarra Valley wine region would be comparable to Napa Valley in California.

Yering station was a great little winery and we tasted some great wines. There was also a lovely little market inside the winery, Casey would have loved this place...minus the wine :)

It was really interesting to go on this tour not only because the valley was beautiful and the wine was great, but because this was the region that was ravaged by the bush fires. There were areas of the valley that were just totally taken out it... red burnt orchards. So sad.
