Footy.

Australia is very sports obsessed, especially Melbourne. There is a sport called AFL-Australian Football League that is especially popular. They call it Footy. So the only way to explain this game is to say it is a mix between- Soccer-Rugby and American football. It is such a crazy sport to watch though... The players where no guards or padding at all. None. Players are constantly getting their bones in their faces smashed and concussions all the time. It is really hard core.

Well our Tom is a season ticket holder for Essedon (Bombers) and he got us tickets to a really great game last Friday night. Tickets is an understatement.... We were like ten rows up from the field. With 90 thousand people in the stadium, that makes a big difference. We had a really REALLY good time.

I apologize for the lack of posting as last week was a pretty hard week all around. I promise to step it up. I am headed to Mornington Peninsula this weekend to stay at one of Kate's co-workers houses. Mornington Peninsula is down the coast from Melbourne and has great beach side properties. By the way... It has been so cold here. I did not picture it to be this cold, I am really happy that I packed warm.

Also - so there is this new program that the government has introduced to get people more involved in the arts in Victoria, its called test drive the arts. Essentially you pick a few things like plays, dance performances and musical productions that you would like to see and you enter your name in a drawing to get free tickets. Well last week I entered my name in and I got a call today saying that I won awesome tickets to the Melbourne Symphony!!!! I am so excited. It is at the art center right off the river... and best yet, the tickets were like 150$ each and Kate and I get to go for free!!!! I am so ecstatic, I just think it will be so much fun. So hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post lots of fun pictures of us at the Symphony.
